German Lessons for Companies

Do you have a desire to learn or improve your German for pleasure, work or travel? I provide Gerrman instruction for adults and children. You choose between private German lessons or learn with a partner or friend. Students of all skill levels, beginners through advanced students are welcome.

Are you researching your family history and have documents or letters in old German handwriting (Sütterlin, Kurrent/Current Script or Kanzlei Script/chancery writing)? Do you have newspaper articles or books in German (maybe even in Fraktur print?) but can't read them. I can translate them for you.

Do you have a business, a location, customers or employees in Germany? Providing German lessons to employees will increase communication and cultural understanding. Lessons can be taught conveniently at your site in groups or one-on-one, a benefit to both your company and your employees.

Learn German in a private setting, at your own pace, and tailored to your learning style and needs.

Classes take place in my home. I have a dedicated classroom with a board, CD-player, and laptop, etc. You will be learning in a private and quiet place.

Books are an added cost, typically around $30 for one year of classes.

Fees are:
Children $30 per 45 minutes
Adults $35 per 60 minutes

Contact me for rates for two people, for group lessons, or to inquire about teaching at your location.

Family research is fun - Genealogical Translations

It is always exciting to find new church documents, civil records, diaries, or newspaper articles about an ancestor. However, if you have German roots these documents are often in old-German script or in fractur print. I can help you unlock the secret of these documents.

I have more than fifteen years of experience in translating old-German texts. Several dictionaries, the oldest from 1844, complement my interest in German, immigration and world history. Often I am able to decipher texts others have declared unreadable.

If you are interested in having me translate your documents, please call me or send me an e-mail.

Please do not send original documents or the only copy you have.

Translation customers usually send a scan or photo of the document via e-mail, or a paper copy by mail. I then quote a price. Once the text is translated, I typically send the translated text as a Word file attached to an e-mail, or I print it and send it to you by regular mail.
